- Personality -

Chiyuki is a composed individual with a realistic view over the world. Solitary, taciturn, wild, withdrawn since her parents' death when she was young, she is sometimes stubborn and uncooperative. She also has a cruel and cold-hearted side, killing opponents mercilessly. Sometimes, she somewhat looses her mind when a fight is tough, she turns more cruel and reckless, taking someone, usually Satomi, to level her down. Having been betrayed by her own village and sensei, she had trouble trusting people for a while. She became more open to people when she arrived at Konoha and made valuable bonds with comrades who wouldn't betray her. Usually she is a calm and loyal person, yet a bit cold. She can be stubborn, brutal with people who annoy her, or witty and playful when she is in a good mood. She has occasionally be shown to have a bit of a pervy mind, making Kakashi blush and enjoying reading his Icha-Icha books with a grin.

- Background -

Clan : She is from the Dōbutsu clan, which members fight by transforming into animals. Dōbutsus and Inuzukas have shared roots, but while the Inuzukas fight along with dogs, Dōbutsus fight by turning themselves into the animal that most fits their personality, making their skills useful for spying missions for example. The transformation is a simple Henge no justu, and they have 2 transformations available : full animal or half beast (they have animal features and the particular skill of said animal : enhanced hearing, claws, etc...).

Her mother is from the Dōbutsu clan, and her father is from the Sakkaku clan, a clan proficient in Genjutsu.

Backstory:

When she was a child, a conflict burst within Yukigakure, she witnessed her parents' death and nearly got killed too. From this day on she was withdrawn and cold, not desiring company. When she graduated academy, she was put in a team with Taiyō Shinigami and Takeo Tsuyoshi, under the command of their sensei Kuragari Dōbutsu. He was a harsh and cold sensei, but he was talented, and the genins performed well... but their teamwork was awful. One day, she even mortally wounded Taiyō. Thankfully, his Shinigami jutsus allowed him to go back to life.

Right after that, Kuragari got a mission from the elder of the clan to meet the Inuzuka clan in Konoha. Kuragari decided to bring Chiyuki along so that it would give her an opportunity to learn more of the shinobi world. At Konoha, she also met the genins from there: Kakashi, Obito, Rin, Gai, Asuma, etc, she heard about the Will of Fire... and this changed Chiyuki's way of looking at her comrades. From this day on, she was nicer to her teammates, and the genins became the best team ever, their teamwork was the most efficient, each member knowing exactly the skills and the personality of the others. The day of the Chūnin exams, they went to Konoha where the exam took place, she met the Konoha-nins once again. During the exams, the team performed well and the 3 of them became chūnins.

Some years later, the team was on duty on a tough mission, during which Takeo sacrificed himself by heroically luring the opponents to allow his team to attack them. After all the enemies were killed, on the verge of dying, Takeo gave his katana to Chiyuki and told her that this way, he would still be part of the team. This event led Chiyuki and Taiyō to be stronger, but also more reckless when fighting enemies.

Later on, on another mission, the now 3-man team was ambushed. Upon escaping, the two students were separated from their sensei, and the fight became unavoidable. The two were exhausted, and when Taiyō was wounded, he didn't have enough chakra left to perform his revival jutsu. With his remaining strength, he passed on all his jutsus to Chiyuki thanks to a sealing jutsu, telling her that like Takeo he would still be with her this way. Kuragari finally arrived, but too late.

These events allowed Chiyuki to become stronger and was promoted jōnin soon, but she also turned colder than ever. She was known for the bloodshed that was left after her. The Shinigami clan was upset that she got the secret techniques despite not being from the clan, and Kuragari seemed upset that Chiyuki was the one who survived the ambush, telling that Taiyō was better than her. Some years passed, until the day Chiyuki was attacked by ninjas from her own village! Realizing that the attack was orchestrated by no other than her own sensei Kuragari, she fled Yukigakure and spent some years as a wanderer, surviving on her own in the forest.

A fortunate event let her to cross roads with Kakashi and his team (Naruto and Sakura, Sasuke having left the village at that time). Kakashi recognized her when she helped them on their mission, and when their duty was done they asked about each other's whereabouts. When Chiyuki told them that she had been forced to quit her village, Naruto yelled that she should be coming with them at Konoha, there she wouldn't be betrayed by comrades. With a new hope within her, Chiyuki followed them to Konoha. It took a lot of convincing from Kakashi and some yelling from Naruto to convince Tsunade, but Chiyuki was finally accepted at Konoha. She was paired with Satomi for their amazing skills, particularly pertaining to Suiton jutsus.

At some point, Konoha was attacked, and Chiyuki realized that it was Yuki ninjas coming for her, mostly Shinigami clan members, and Kuragari leading the attack. Chiyuki casted an ice barrier around the village to protect it – and to prevent ninjas from Konoha to join the fight. Kuragari revealed that her teammates didn't die because of the missions but because he had done everything he could to weaken them. His goal was to get Chiyuki killed so that she would give Taiyō her jutsus, and this way he would have forced Taiyō to pass the jutsus to him. Shocked, Chiyuki led Kuragari in a duel to death. They fought, using the Dōbutsu fighting style, Chiyuki in her wolf form and Kuragari in his tiger form. Their ninjutsu was equal, but he was stronger and quicker and got the upper hand. With his strong jaws, he broke her neck. Upon dying, Chiyuki saw her teammates in the afterworld, and they convinced her to live for them and go back to the fight using the Shinigami clan jutsu. She seemingly rose from the dead, fighting Kuragari to the death. The key to her victory was her skills in genjutsu. Her victory allowed her to give the Shinigami Kuragari's life instead of her own. Exhausted, she was saved by Kakashi and Naruto as the Konoha-nins made the other enemies flee. After that, she really became a kunoichi from Konoha.

When Naruto came back from his 3 years training with Jiraiya, he noticed that Kakashi and Chiyuki seemed closer than before... but it was when the 4^th Ninja War ended that their relationship became official. They marry around The Last time.

- Trivia -

-When wet, Chiyuki has a faint smell of wet dog. The animal smell is a trait commonly shared by all Dōbutsu clan members.

-Tsunade chose Chiyuki to protect Satomi, who inherited Tobirama Senju's affinity to water, because of her own prominent skills with Suiton jutsus.

-Her favorite colors are blue and white.

-Her favorite food is grilled meat and her least favorite food is dango.

-Her hobbies are training, walking in the forest, idling on riversides and playing yokobue.

-She wishes to fight Kakashi Hatake, Gai Maito and Kurenai Yūhi.

-She was taught kenjutsu by her former teammate Takeo Tsuyoshi. He gave his katana to her when he died.

-She most often sleeps curled into a ball.

-She has no problem sleeping outside on the ground and her jutsu Doton – Wolf's Den serves as camping purposes as well as a fighting technique.

-Kakashi and Chiyuki's first date was at Yakiniku Q.

Behold my white gal ! Finally a proper reference for Chiyuki ^^ By the way, the red markings on her eyes are clan markings. And that wolf looks amazing ! This is Chiyuki transformed, not a summon. And the pic in the upper-right level shows her half-beast transformation; the ears are in place of her human ones because she is not a kemonomimi ! She has sharp claws and fangs also.
